The Families and Title V project builds opportunities for families to contribute to state Title V programs and Title V Block Grants. Materials, PowerPoint presentations, and workshops encourage and support family participation. Partners in Information and Communication (PIC) Project.

MATERIALS

  • First Steps for Family Leaders:
    Forming Collaborative Relationships with Your State Title V Program Title V Collaboration Tip Sheet
    • A 2-page tip sheet for family leaders on developing or renewing partnerships with Title V programs.
  • Title V Information System TVIS-doc
    • A 1-pager that describes the reports and other resources available on the Title V Information System with specific links.
  • Action Plan: A Workbook for Families to Participate with States in the Development of Title V Block Grants Action Plan-pdf
    • A 30-page booklet that provides background information for families to assist them to become active partners in the Block Grant process, including the development of Block Grants, needs assessments and performance measures.
  • Getting to Know Title V: A Slide Show Presentation Booklet
    • Slide presentation that describes Title V mission, history, and services and how families participate in Title V programs and policies.
  • Partnerships: Families in Title V Programs (I) Partnerships I-pdf
    • A 16-page booklet of information, ideas, and strategies to involve and engage families in partnerships with state Title V programs. Includes eleven activities and strategies that offer families background on Title V and suggest ways they can use and become knowledgeable about Title V and Title V Block Grant resource, particularly helpful for a parent group to a Title V program. This booklet Also provides step-by-step guides to access Title V data. The samples used are for state needs assessment, state negotiated measures, and Performance Measure 14.
  • Partnerships: Families in Title V Programs (II) Partnerships II-pdf
    • A 12-page booklet providing information on the involvement of parents/family members with the Title V Block Grant, nationally and in states. It also offers suggestions on written and oral reports from parents who have been part of the federal review process.
  • Title V 5-Year Needs Assessment (2005) Needs Assessment-pdf
    • A 2-page fact sheet that describes the 5 Year Needs Assessment, a process that states use to set goals for Title V services for women and children, including children with special health care needs. Specifically highlighted are strategies to involve families in this process.
